Diamond no Ace Episode Scribbles

Ace of Diamond Epi 15 scribble

Camp training is beginning to test the first-string’s resolve. Heck, Eijun is still falling asleep in class

Eijun couldn’t bat to save his life πŸ˜‚

Anyway, it’s been a while since the last epi scribbles came out for Yuji Terajima’s daiya no ace anime.

Eijun πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Just a quick recap, the first team are now doing some extensive training or as they call it “training camp from hell”. What is becoming a bit of a running gag during the training sessions is Eijun, Harucchi, Furuya having poor stamina and trailing behind the main team πŸ˜‚πŸ€£. The other running gag is they have to eat 3 bowels of rice, in order to increase their stamina, which Satoru isn’t too fond of, in one scene he’s pretending to be eating much to the chagrin of his upper-class man. Nice to see Yuu hasn’t lost his sense of humour, when he got Sawamura’s hope up in him catching his pitches, Chris instructs Eijun to pay more attention to his throws, to get a feel for them. That’s something even I picked up on, Sawamura has a tendency to just throw it. In comparison to the main rival. That’s something I’ve noted before, one has technical skill, the other raw potential.

Speaking of rivalry. There is another little rivalry going in the background, that doesn’t get much attention I feel, it certainly seems to be over shadowed by the main one. That rivalry is a sibling one from the looks of it – Harruchi and his older brother Ryosuke. There are subtle hints or rather digs aimed at Harruchi. I’ll admit I didn’t pay much attention to those; ace of diamond prods you in paying attention to the other first-string cast members and their own issues, like Tanba who doesn’t want to give up his position as the “ace” pitcher in the team. Which prompts Miyuki in to thinking most pitchers are self-centred. This thinking is furthered slightly when Sawamura and Furya come over to his dorm room, despite the two being exhausted from the training. I just had to laugh at the following scenes πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£. Poor Eijun can’t catch a break from Kuramochi, he’s been sending Wakana emails behind Sawamura’s back.

Yeah, they were eager to meet you Miyuki!

On to the upperclassman and their training. Oh boy, shades (Kataoka), he knows how to push you to your limits and then some. As usual in most Shonen sports shows, this pushing the limit of the team is pretty much a message “not to give up, even when you’re backed up against a wall”. As evident when the team captain Yuki rallied the upperclassman from the fatigue and to continue on.

Get up Yuki!!!

As stated at the beginning, it’s been a while since I did my last epi scribbles on diamond no ace. My bad for slacking off on it. Diamond no ace always makes me laugh, like in the small clip Eijun missing his batting, funny enough he has gotten better as an outfielder – not looking lost πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚πŸ€£. The dynamic between Tanba and Miyuki is an interesting one, tension between the two is established as their personalities don’t quite mesh with each other. What daiya no ace always pushes is team work and who you gel with. With these two not seeing eye-to-eye, might be “colourful” as the series progresses. Personally, I’m not a fan of Tanba. He just doesn’t really strike me as a likeable character.
