Favourite 4 Shonen leads with Mia from 9 tailed kitsune

The Shonen genre is pretty big, since it is primarily aimed at young boys. There have been some iconic characters to come from that genre. That doesn’t mean to say older fans can’t enjoy it or don’t have their favourite shonen leads.

For this favourite 4 post, I’m getting a guest to come on here and tell their favourite 4. I’m looking forward to this and would like to give a very big thank you to my very first guest; the very lovely Mia from 9 tailed kitsune. I’ll be leaving all her links. Do check them out and give her a follow.

Mia (Misaka)

Hey everyone, thanks Roki for having me on, I can’t wait to reveal my favourite 4 Shonen leads!

Allen Walker

Allen Walker from D gray man

Allen Wallker, because he is the definition of a perfect boy in my eyes, he is; kind, helpful, compassionate, and also smart (imagine an actually intelligent Shonen MC!!) plus he is not ‘op’ even though he is strong as hell

Naruto Uzumaki

Naruto Uzumaki from Naruto anime

I like Naruto because he is a typical underdog character who can be silly at times, but has a really good heart, he is selfless and good-natured by definition. Also, I love Kurama and their relationship development so him being his jinchuuriki makes him a fave, I love the bijuu mode so much I keep replaying it on you tube 😀

Eren Yaeger

Eren Yaeger from Attack on Titan

Eren is the most complex and developed Shonen character I have ever seen. The thing I like about Eren is that he is realistic, I literally feel his emotions when he talks or goes through experiences, also cool powers and I like how it’s handled, he is not insanely OP or anything but has to train and understand his powers in order to use them ‘properly’

Gon Freecss

Gon Freecss from Hunter x Hunter

Gon is a typical Shonen protagonist who can come off as naive and airheaded, but he is innocent, warm-hearted, and caring. He is also selfless and would lay down his life for the sake of his friends. He does not start as an underdog but rather a resourceful but very young with a lot of potential, so we can see him honing his skills/powers and it’s not off-putting (yes, I am a bit annoyed about OP isekai protagonists so it’s refreshing for me)

Thanks for coming on Mia!, same here can’t wait to show what favourite shonen leads are mine

Tsuna Sawada

Tsuna Sawada from hitman reborn

Tsuna is that underdog character, and one with bad luck I might add – hence why he is called “no good “Tsuna”. However, I always like his resilience and resolve. Even when Reborn has the spartan attitude in training Tsuna in to becoming the future vongola boss. His kindness, loyalty, resolve is what made me root for him. Still can’t get over go how he “wore his under wear the wrong way then wet them” 😂🤣😂🤣

Ichigo Kurosaki

Ichigo Kurosaki from Bleach

BANKAI!!!!! that’s all we did when bleach was airing, just shouting out BANKAI!! to each other. Anyway, I like Ichigo, granted I watched the dub version with the excellent JYB (Johnny Y Bosch). Ichigo has that never say die, no shit taking attitude. With a fierce loyalty and resolve to boot. Those traits is what appeals to me about him, his “don’t care what others think, earn my respect and loyalty, in return you’ll have a devoted, loyal, supportive, friend”. Those is what sums up Ichigo for me. Yes, he gets the usual shonen power ass pull. Still though.

Setsuna F. Seiei

Setsuna F Seiei from Gundam 00

Stoic, aloof, yet determined. That’s how I see Setsuna, in a way I resonate with him on that level. A boy that wants to find answers or peace, even if it means having to continually fight for them using an “aggressive” mean. I still remember how Marina Ismail was devastated when she read that last letter in the final epi of S1 from him to her.

Senku Ishigami

Senku Ishigami from Dr. Stone

The smartest, intelligent, and pretty much a cheeky, (somewhat) arrogant, yet kind character Senku is. I actually enjoy his antics in Dr Stone. What is seen as outlandish behaviour to the Ishigami villagers, is pretty much Senku being Senku, driving everyone else to find a better tomorrow. In his own way, he shows that he appreciates everyone he meets. And never judges them for their past misdeeds.

And that’s it. Those are mine and the very lovely Mia’s 4 favourite shonen leads. Thank you very much in agreeing to do this Mia. Here are her links, do check them out. She puts up some really cool screencaps over at pinterest and instagram.

I’ll be handing it over to you, readers. Who are your favourite shonen leads?, which characters and which shows are they from?. Let me know by leaving a comment down below. There will be another favourite 4 with a guest coming in the near future.

Till the next one.

Hey up everyone, this is Roki. I’m just your typical guy who loves anime and videogames. I do have a daft sense of humour. Do love the paranormal, supernatural, mysteries, myths, folklore and legends

That’s an interesting list! To be honest I don’t know how I would rank my faves (still I have a clear idea of the to 5 or so). But in the spirit of the post, I’ll say this – Gintoki Sakata gets my first place any day of the week.
