Final Impression

How I felt about Fairy gone, Kono Oto Tomare, Gunjou no Magmel

My final impressions for anime spring 2019.

From enjoyable to out right boring

Since demon slayer is still on going, I’ve replaced it with gunjou. Continuing on from my first impression post. Well two of the three shows I found were enjoyable, despite their flaws. However, I just couldn’t get past a certain show out of pure boredome.

Fairy Gone

Fairy Gone last episodes of Marlya and Free
Marlya is best girl in the series

Personally enjoyed fairy gone. I did feel like the first cour is a smaller plot thread to a much bigger one, as it finishes on an open ended note. The battle may be over, but the war has just begun and all that jazz. The path leading in to that route, has been an issue for many. As most found the whole “political intrigue” boring. I didn’t mind it all. Could have made it less round about though, as it did lose me at times. The issue I do have is the location of the fiefdoms, at least that’s what I’m calling them as they are brought up, however their back story is under developed and quite forgetful – along with some of the characters. Marks for attempting world building I suppose. I really like Marlya and Free. Klara and Serge are okay. Am I looking forward to the 2nd cour? yes please!!!.

Kono Oto Tomare!

Kono Oto Tomare last episodes of Kudo and Hozuki
Too many names with K – Kurusu best girl

Really enjoyable. That’s how I found Kono Oto Tomare. It sucked that it ended on a cliff hanger. Although I can see why, as it adds that extra layer of tension and drama. Which is what this is, a drama show. Each of the main cast had some really nice mini arcs. Kurata over coming his indecisiveness and becoming a better leader for the group. Kudo showing that there is more to him than what is rumoured about him. Hozuki also showing that there is more to her. In general the whole show is about the cast over coming their doubts, finding redemption and a place in which they can belong to. Essentially it’s coming of age for them. Bonding and forging friendship along the way. I did find Kurusu’s arc way too shallow. Considering that she is depicted to be a shallow girl. She is my fav.

Gunjou no Magmel

Gunjou no Magmel 4 episodes of Zero
Just utterly boring!!

Utterly BORING!!!. In my first impression post, I put my hands up. I tried to be nice and fair, however, I couldn’t take it anymore. Gunjou is just boring and utterly slow. Nothing really happens. Watched only 4 episodes and just haven’t had the incentive to go any further. That’s how bad this show really is!!!. The only really good thing about it are; Zero, the fight scenes, Zero and puddings, the colourful palette, Zero and her pouting, the OP and ED. I’m really disappointed that this show became a dud for me, after the first episode having so much going for it. I mean, wow, after the first it just took a massive nose dive south. I don’t think I’ve seen a show do that before. And yeah, I’ve reused some screencaps because I really didn’t want to go through a bore fest just to get some new ones.

Scribble down, and I’ll catch you on the next post!

Kono Oto Tomare! Seems like a show I might be into on an evening that I am bored or so. Me and my friends have a random anime bin. A box with okayish to decent anime. On occasion we get together and watch one of these.
I might use it for Boxu Boxu Chan!
