I’ve been blogging for a long time

Can I blog some more plz??

Yes, you’ve read that correctly. I’ve been a blogger for quite a long time. I’ve been around wordpress since 2009 – not consistently mind you. Bounced on and off the site and restarted several times (this is my 4th incarnation). It took till around 2012 that I decided to focus on anime. It was at the end 2013, start of 2014 when I really interacted with the blogging community. There are 3 very dear bloggers that I had the fortune of knowing; Takuto from Takuto anime cafe, The Otaku Judge from Otaku Judge and Icy Squirrel from Icy squirrel and dango bunny.

A total 90’s kid

I grew up watching some really old anime shows. However the biggest influence on me is the mighty morphin power rangers. And some really old Godzilla movies, when I found out they were just men in rubber suits…I was gutted. Just to stay on the power rangers, in hindsight, it made no sense as to why the you’d blow a flute that sounds like a trumpet but synthesised through a helmet. Also, like many kids at the time. I had a crush on the pink ranger.

“John Cena sucks” – a wrestling fan too

Staying with the 90’s. Around the mid 90’s to this day. I got in to watching wrestling, yes wrestling. I didn’t have Sky 1 at the time to watch the WWF. So I got stuck watching WCW. This was then WCW executive producer Eric Bishoff took the idea from a Japanese wrestling org, whose wrestlers were trying to hi-jack the company. Eric took this idea and put the bad-boys spin on it; this lead to the creation of the nWo – with the founding members “Hollywood” Hulk Hogan (whose 2nd coming came through his heel turn), Scott Hall (Razor Ramon  in WWF) and Kevin Nash (Diesel from WWF). Fast forward to this day, I’ve been to 3 WWE house shows with my nephew and friend.

Bit of a tech guy

Not my PC

Still with the mid 90’s all the way till 2005. I was always in to PC and tech. Some of my studies were related to PC’s. However, I got out of it. It became a chore trying to keep up with the latest PC tech. Doesn’t mean I don’t understand what a PC spec is, I just don’t bother with it as much. I do like trying out new software. In fact, I was one of the few in the aniblogging community to become aware and try out the new wordpress editor.

Tried my luck on some video/photo editing

I do like to dabble with software. During my hiatus from blogging, I tried my hands on photo editing. And video editing. Photo or graphics came around when YT had that very old layout when you can customise it. I had a sweet AMV editor actually make one for me, sadly I haven’t kept in touch with her for a long time. Still impressed with the style. However I did try you tube…and well see for yourself (yes that is me)

Had aspirations of being an author

Used for illustrative purposes

I started out creative writing around 9. This included the using the back of old school exercise books, notes pads etc. I always preferred fantasy and used or tried to incorporate some mythologies – loosely based on them. One thing I never did was finish the stories I created. Sadly, this loosely played in to the reason why I stopped creative writing. The other…reality is pretty hard. The last story I worked on was an Arab/Persian inspired one. My friend said it sounded very reminiscent to Arslan Senki. Mind you, I’ve never known, seen or even heard of Arslan Senki at the time.

Prefer piano jazz, videogame/anime OST music

I don’t really stick with artists for too long, since I always  moved on from them. However the types of music I generally like are piano jazz, video game or anime music. They were always the most consistent types of music with me.

And there you have it folks, I hope you found this post interesting or entertaining at least. As for nominees. I really don’t have anyone in mind, so basically anyone who is reading this.

DUDE!!! I thought I was the only person who played and loved Chaos Legion! OH MY GOD!!!! You just made my day! I have to go back and listen to this entire soundtrack now! The memories! But I am the same way. I listen to more original soundtracks now than actual songs now. Movies, games, anime, television, and others. I enjoy the mood they put me in.

How do you feel about the new editor? Karandi made me aware of it and I now can’t go back to the old one. I really dig the new one.

Awesome post!!!

Yeah, I love pledge ost the most. Same here have fond memories playing it on pc xDD. Glad it did made your day :D.

There are some things that could be better, I sometimes use font colouring on specific word(s). With the new editor, it colours the whole paragraph, which is a bummer. Headings as well. Overall, same here I’m digging the new editor.
